Overview

About Crown Institute of Studies

Crown Institute of Studies is an NZQA-registered private training establishment in central Auckland. It teaches New Zealand certificates and diplomas in four areas: tourism and travel, hospitality, business, and health and wellbeing, to both international and domestic students.

Programmes combine classroom learning with real industry experience: hotel and restaurant visits, trips to Hobbiton and Auckland Airport, guest speakers, internships, and training on the booking systems and equipment used at work. Crown works with hotels, tour operators, cruise lines and travel companies, and its diplomas lead on to degree study at Massey University and Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology.

In its January 2026 External Evaluation and Review, NZQA was Confident in Crown’s educational performance and in its capability in self-assessment, noting strong learner achievement rates and high value for stakeholders.
